Unlike other "toy" voice changing apps on the market, there is no recording and playback necessary. Phantom I/O transforms audio from the microphone in real-time, sending the processed audio directly to the headphone jack. Advanced DSP algorithms provide the highest quality audio with minimal processing delay.

USER INSTRUCTIONS:

To process and/or scramble audio -- First, make sure headphones or other audio equipment are connected to the headphone jack. Select Process to begin processing audio from the microphone. You can then adjust the Pitch, Tremolo, and Vibrato sliders. To garble the audio stream, select a scrambling frequency, then select Scramble.

To descramble audio -- First, make sure headphones or other audio equipment are connected to the headphone jack. Select the scrambling frequency, and select Scramble. Select Process. Hold the microphone so you can pick up the scrambled audio, then listen through the headphones. The original message will be clearly heard through the headphones.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem: Audio processing doesn't function during phone calls

Solution: This is a limitation of the Android OS. Processing phone call audio requires additional hardware. Contact us for more information.

Problem: Audio is too low

Solution: Increase the Media Volume in Settings > Sound > Volume.

Problem: Loud feedback noise

Solution: This app is an in-line processor. You must use the headphone jack for this app to function properly.

Problem: Output is delayed

Solution: This is normal. Due to buffering, the output audio may be delayed by a few hundred milliseconds.

Problem: Descrambled message sounds the same as scrambled message

Solution: Make sure Scrambler option is selected.

Problem: "Whooshing" sound

Solution: Move the pitch slider to a different settings, then back to the previous setting. This will reset the pitch shifter.
